The total expense and venue you choose will depend on the number of guests on your guest list. Choosing a modest, private wedding or a big, extravagant one will directly affect your wedding budget and strategies to cut costs, so now is the perfect time to make your decision.

Pick a Date

Consider the time of year you want to be married as well as your preferred day of the week. Weddings on weekends, holidays, and throughout the spring and summer might be more costly and competitive. In order to tie the knot within the next six to twelve months, you'll need to reserve the venue as soon as possible. Choose three or four dates that are convenient for both of you. It will be up to you to decide if you want to hire outside vendors but it could be unnecessary for you to hire someone on your own if the venue you've chosen handles some or all of these things. However, if you're organizing your own wedding, you'll have to look into and make the following hirings:

• Photographer
• Videographer
• DJ, singer or band
• Florist

Pick Your Dress for the Big Day

Think about your budget first. This should cover the price of the garment as well as any adjustments and extras. After that, read through magazines and browse images on Pinterest and Instagram to get an idea of your own style.
